Need an easy weeknight meal idea?
Try making these delicious 3-Ingredient Bagel Dogs in the air fryer (they’re a fun, yummy Weight Watchers friendly treat, too)! For this idea, I’m wrapping a hot dog with a crazy easy dough that we featured in THIS previous post. These are a treat the whole family will enjoy!
Yup, the air fryer is still my favorite appliance!
I still find myself gravitating toward easy air fryer recipes in real life for convenience, and also we truly enjoy the taste and texture it gives food without using a ton of oil. I also love that my kids can use it also to warm up leftovers or make a quick grilled cheese and other simple meals.
Don’t have an air fryer? No worries, I’ve also included conventional oven instructions for homemade bagel dogs in the recipe as well!
Spice it up!
For these bagel dogs, I added some diced jalapenos to give some nice flavor to the dough! They tasted super yummy to us, but they can ultimately be left out if preferred! I sprinkled some poppy seeds and added extra jalapenos to the top before air frying, but you could always use Everything Bagel seasoning instead as an idea! YUM.
Hip Tip: Don’t have self-rising flour? For each cup of all-purpose flour, add 2 teaspoons of baking powder + 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
One batch of this dough will nicely cover four hot dogs (you can double the recipe for more). All I did was roll the sections into long tubes and then wrapped the dough around the hot dogs before cooking.
Easy 3-Ingredient Bagel Dogs
These spicy jalapeno bagel dogs take just a few minutes to prep!
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 15-18 minutes minutes
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 3 tablespoons jalapenos, chopped
- 4 hot dogs
- 1/2 tablespoon poppy seeds
- Step 1:
Mix self rising flour and plain Greek yogurt together into a dough. Add chopped jalapenos.
- Step 2:
Transfer dough to a floured surface and divide into fourths. Roll into long tubes and wrap around hot dog. Repeat with other three hot dogs.
- Step 3:
Top bagel dogs with poppy seeds and any additional jalapenos, if desired.
- Step 4:
Brush or spray bottom of bagel dog with a little olive oil, so they won’t stick to air fryer basket. Place inside air fryer so they aren’t touching and have a little room to expand.
- Step 5:
Cook in air fryer at 360 degrees for 15-18 minutes, or until dough is a little browned and cooked through.
Conventional Oven Directions: Bake on a parchment paper covered sheet pan for 25 minutes at 375 degrees, (dough should be a little browned and cooked through when done).
- Step 6:
Serve with ketchup, mustard, or try with honey mustard! So good.

You’re gonna love these bagel dogs!
I love how puffy and crusty on the outside the dough gets after cooking. Just dip these in your favorite condiment and you’ve got a fantastic snack or meal! You can even slice these up into smaller bite-sized slices and serve on a platter as a great football watching appetizer! YUM-O.
Weight Watchers friendly!
Also worth mentioning, this idea is Weight Watchers friendly, and, depending on the hot dog you buy, can be as little as 4 Freestyle points each. For instance, if you used Hebrew National fat free dogs like I did, they would be 4 points each!
