Need a teacher appreciation gift idea?
If so, consider creating a cute Teacher’s Appreciation gift card holder using these free printable designs! This is a thoughtful Teacher Appreciation Day gift or something to give during the holidays or at the end of the school year. Teachers put an incredible amount of time and energy into our kids, and we appreciate them so much. Even a small gift like this can make their day!
Teachers LOVE gift cards
Over the years, we’ve had many teachers (who are also readers) comment they appreciate any gesture, and gift cards make such great gifts for teachers because they can then treat themselves to a coffee, lunch, or perhaps a mini shopping spree with something like a Target gift card. You can even customize your gift card selection personally for your teacher if you happen to know their favorites.
By the end of the year, my kids usually know which stores and food their teachers enjoy. For instance, we have one teacher who’s obsessed with Starbucks, one who loves to read, and another who loves Chipotle. If you’re not sure, however, there’s no harm in sending a quick email to ask.
One tip I have as a former homeroom parent is I used to send out something similar to this TEACHER FAVORITES questionnaire to my teachers to see what their likes were. It was very helpful during Teacher Appreciation week!

Embellishing your gift card holders can be a fun activity the kids can help with!
First, print the cards you’d like to use on white cardstock paper, and then tape them to pretty scrapbook paper or construction paper for a fun look (see above). A paper trimming tool is very helpful for this type of project to cut straight lines, but you can use scissors instead. We used strong double-sided tape to make sure the gift cards don’t fall off of the card, and then we added decorative washi tape on top of the gift card.

Print desired gift card holders on white cardstock paper.
Cut the gift card holders using scissors or a paper trimmer. Cut a piece of decorative paper slightly larger than the gift card holder.
Tape gift card to the front in the middle, and then tape it to the decorative paper. Lastly, place a little decorative washi tape on top if desired.
Hooray for easy and fun teacher gift ideas!
