These Wreaths Are Frugal, Sustainable, and Too Darned Cute!
You know the saying, one person’s trash is another person’s treasure? Well, I bet you never expected to see “trash” upcycled in such an eye-appealing way! This week’s Happy Friday tip comes from Hip2Save reader Krystal, who makes cute wreaths from sustainable items to give as frugal (and clever) decor and gifts.
I love to make gifts for people for all occasions. Not only does it save money, but it makes the gift a little extra special because I made it myself with my ideas and my time. I will buy stuff at yard sales or after holidays sales to save them for future use.
For instance, red ribbon and flowers go on sale after Christmas, but you can still use it for upcoming Valentine’s Day, or even for birthdays year round! You can even find stuff for cheap or free at yard sales and reuse them for arrangements or gifts. I also reuse all kinds of bottles like glass and wine bottles. The things I use are normally thrown away, so these projects also save the environment.
Who knew that old cutting shears could be so pretty?!
What a fun way to recycle older items into such gorgeous decor! Thank you, Krystal, for sharing your beautiful projects and this frugal decor and gift idea with us.
Do you have a funny, “Hip”, or unique photo or tip to share?! Fill out our Happy Friday form. Every Friday, we post one photo, submitted by a Hip2Save reader (view past submissions) that gives us a glimpse into their frugal lifestyle or simply makes us smile. If your photo is published on Hip2Save, we’ll email you a $10 Amazon eGift card!
Don’t forget to check out these Magnolia look-alike wreaths!
